Position Description:
Process customer requests for quotations (RFQs) through the system, and develop cost estimates by interfacing with purchasing, engineering, quality and sales. Responsible for getting price quotations from outside vendors for raw material and other technical vendor services required to be able to develop the cost estimate to customer RFQs. Works with VP Sales & Marketing to finalize pricing proposal, and sending quotations to customers.
Skills Requirements:
· Ability to read blue prints/ engineering drawings
· Strong skills in Math, and ability to understand cost/ pricing relationships
· Experience with high performance teams and be a strong team player.
· Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel and Word
· Attention to detail/ specifications, customer requirements and standards
· Ability to interact with other departments within the organization, as well as outside vendors with
thoroughness, tact and technical knowledge.
· Associate degree in mechanical engineering at minimum
· 2 years work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with ERP/MRP systems
· Experience working with outside suppliers is a plus
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage request for quotations (RFQs) from customers in ?Estimating module? of ?Visual Manufacturing? to develop sales quotations, while keeping them constantly appraised of their RFQ status
· Interact/ coordinate with National Manufacturing?s engineering, quality and sales departments to develop cost estimating masters in Visual Manufacturing.
· Interact with outside vendors to request quotations for materials, components and outside services and enter these costs into the ?estimating module?
· Research to find vendors either to expand existing vendor base or to find vendors for new services
· Monitor and expedite RFQs based on date received, deadlines and sales potential.
· Follow up on outstanding quotes for existing customers
