We are seeking a Medical Assistant to add to our clinic. Please respond with a current copy of your resume and cover letter for consideration.
This is a Part-time position.
Primary Purpose : Assists with the provision of patient centered care,both clinical and clerical, in an outpatient clinic. Performs various clinical support tasks under clinical supervision within the organization's established scope of practice guidelines to ensure efficient patient flow.
Major Responsibilities: * Greets and rooms the patient for exam .* Obtaining vital signs and enter in electronic medical record.* pertinent health information, electronically.* Perform vision and hearing test.* Acts as a chaperone for health care providers during patient examinations as requested and assists with all procedures.* Performs Clia waived laboratory procedures .* Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, circumcision, I & D,etc* Administer vaccines and therapeutic injection
* Performs and records lab control and refrigerator log* Vaccine inventories* Assists in providing education to the patient* Performs new patient registration, including setting up new patient charts and determining eligibility for sliding scale; and updates all patient information* May assist with clerical, reception or medical records duties.* Answers telephones, leaves complete messages with appropriate* Organizes and prepares exam rooms, lab and work areas including: cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
Licenses & Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Degrees :
Graduated from an accredited high school or hold GED.
Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant.
Required Functional Experience :
1 year work experience in pediatrics/ family medicine preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities to perform routine and complex technical skills, within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Enjoys working with children and geriatric population
Ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, staff and physicians.
Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
Demonstrates customer service skills that support a positive patient experience.
Scheduled Hours: Current hours: Mon to friday 7:45-12:15
