Job Description:
The accountant position will perform a variety of functions for multiple companies including:
Accounts Payable & Expense Management: Responsible for managing vendors, entry of payables, allocating expenses across multiple companies and assisting with check runs.
Accounts Receivables: Manage customer setup process and credit approval.
Inventory: Manage cycle counts, research variances, track consigned inventory and manage returned goods.
General Ledger: Assist with various closing activities, account reconciliations, internal auditing, and report preparation.
Commissions & Sales Reporting: Assist with management of incoming information and pre-processing data before posting to sales reporting software. Help to expand the amount of information we collect and store for business intelligence and decision making.
Purchasing: Fulfill role a purchasing backup with a few primary purchasing activities such as obtaining international freight quotes.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Strong Microsoft Excel skills with ability to perform data sorting, filtering and manipulation. Must have working knowledge of IF statements, VLOOKUP, date functions, text manipulation, table formats, pivot tables, charts and graphs. These skills will be evaluated during the interview process.
Strong analysis skills: ability to manipulate data to reconcile accounts, research variances, act on information and report on results. Must be able to understand complex rules and verifying numbers are in alignment.
Strong Organizational Skills: Effective time management to meet deadlines independently. Ability to complete tasks with an electronic workflow. Complete long term projects and coordinate assignments from other team members.
Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
Experience with compliance reporting including sales tax, CAT tax, and 1099's.
Preferred Skills:
QuickBooks
Natural ability to understand software
Experience in manufacturing, distribution or wholesale
Basic SQL knowledge, Excel data modeling, Excel database queries.
Experience with Microsoft Access
Efficient computer skills
Scanning, saving, extracting, inserting and commenting PDF documents.
Experience with business intelligence or predictive modeling
Experience with EDI
Ability to research issues and evaluate proposed solutions
Experience with international freight and duties
Understanding of statistics
