Our skilled nursing facility has an for an RN or LPN on the swing shift.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Some variance may exist depending upon license and scope of practice abilities.
Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and alleviate apprehension.
Prepares equipment and may aid physician during treatment and examination of patient.
Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by physician and/or facility policy including patient and family instruction.
Dresses wounds and provides other treatments as prescribed by physician.
Takes and records patients' vital signs. Records food and fluid intake and output. Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
Administers specified medication orally or by injection and notes time and amount on patients' charts. Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge.
Participates in department or wing quality improvement activities.
Assembles and uses such equipment as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen suppliers.
Supervises nursing aide staff and maintains safe patient care areas.
Collects samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing.
Answers patient call lights and assists patients with activities of daily living as needed.
Minimum job requirements include the following:
Associate?s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; six months to one year related job experience preferred but willing to train new graduates .
Must have current Utah Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing
Current CPR certification strongly preferred
Capable of demonstrating compassion and appropriate boundaries with patients
Effective time management skills
Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills, focusing on problem solving.
Ability to multi-task and show compassion
