Full Charge Bookkeeper Job Opening in Clermont, Florida - Resort Law Firm, P.A. is an established, busy timeshare real estate law firm located in Clermont (Four Corners area) - a short drive from Orlando.
The firm seeks a full charge bookkeeper. This position comes with a benefits package (paid vacation, health insurance premium contributions, limited SIMPLE IRA match contributions).
The successful candidate will be detail oriented and highly organized. He or she will excel in assigned tasks and be eager to learn other tasks. He or she will think, ?I?m all caught up, I want more responsibility.?
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience including extensive use of QuickBooks. This experience should include reconciling general ledger accounts; producing financial statements; preparing bi-weekly payroll, payroll tax deposits and payroll tax returns; maintaining multiple bank accounts; and other upper-level bookkeeping tasks.
Working with others is a daily part of this position; accordingly, excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Highly competent in Microsoft Excel. Moderate competency in Word and Outlook are preferred.
Prior law firm bookkeeping experience with client trust accounting is strongly preferred.
Timeshare real estate closing experience preferred but not required.
Education: Associate?s degree or higher preferred.
Tasks and Areas of Responsibility
Daily entries and maintenance for trust and escrow accounts.
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Reconcile multiple bank accounts in a timely fashion.
Interface with clients and provide detailed answers to inquiries.
Delegate and review spreadsheets and data entry work of clerks.
Interact with the firm?s outside accounting firm for year-end tax return preparation.
Process payroll, remit applicable taxes, and process quarterly and annual tax returns.
Prepare monthly financial reports.
Certain Human Resources functions including annual benefits analysis.
Annual payment of property taxes for clients.
Processing mail, copying, scanning, faxing, word processing.
Maintain coherent system of accounts with a supporting filing system.
Must be comfortable answering phones and helping clients discern with whom they should speak.
Interact with banks to establish new accounts, account maintenance, etc.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the law firm principal or Director of Operations.
Provide insight and feedback on processes and procedures.
Process weekly timeshare real estate closings.
We expect to fill the position at between $43,000 and $47,000 depending on the candidate's qualifications.
