Controller Job Opening in Boulder, Colorado - Position Summary
This person will have primary day ? to ? day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial related activities of the company. This includes direct responsibilities for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, and financing. This position is responsible for adhering to company policies and procedures and maintaining a positive and respectful attitude with employees and other members of management.

Essential Job Functions:
Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives
Ensures credibility of finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
Directs and oversees all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the organization
Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs and strategic and regulatory action
Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions
Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, consolidation and reporting to the company.
Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
Ensures that effective internal controls are in place and ensures compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial reporting
Communicates financial results via monthly financial statements provided to company management, including the Chief Executive Officer, President, and Store Managers
Negotiates the terms and conditions of bank loans
Manage property operations including lease negotiations, and tenant relationships
Responsible for maintaining adequate and competitive business insurance including commercial liability, employment practices, unemployment and worker?s compensation insurance
Work with CPA to complete yearend financial statement review for timely filing of corporate and shareholder tax returns
Regular review credit card agreements for retail store to ensure rates are competitive with current market conditions
Qualifications
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly responsible for the supervision of the Building Services Manager, the Human Resources Manager, and the Payroll Administrator
Indirectly supervises up to 40 employees (e.g., accounts payable and receivable, inventory control, warehouse/receiving)
Education and Experience
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
5-10 years? experience in upper level management
Experience in Retail Accounting
Technical Skills, Programs or Certificates
Must be proficient in accounting software
Microsoft office suite proficiency required
