Corporate Controller Job Opening in Georgetown, Texas - NextDesk is a fast growing manufacturing company seeking to add a Controller to take a senior leadership role in the accounting group. This position is an important part of the executive team of this high growth privately held corporation. This position is accountable for the accounting operations of multiple corporations, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
The position requires a self-driven and highly motivated professional to lead the accounting operation for a national manufacturing company. The primary responsibility will focus on serving as the senior financial leader for the assigned division/business unit(s) with responsibility for planning and developing a vision for the accounting organization that emphasizes accountability, accuracy, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate must have a track record of getting things done, a personal style that relies on sound decision making, and solid business judgment to add value across the organization. The successful candidate will exhibit proven accounting and financial leadership skills in a complex, fast paced, corporate environment.
Requirements:
Basic Business Process Improvement, Intermediate Financial Analysis & Reporting, Intermediate Risk Management, Intermediate Performance Management, Intermediate Financial Statement Preparation, Intermediate Financial Analysis, Strong MS Excel.
Requirements include a Bachelor?s degree in accounting, CPA (preferred), minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting. The Controller will have strong GAAP skills, critical thinking skills and strong analysis skills.
The Controller will be responsible for oversight of the accounting department, which includes financial statement preparation, tax planning, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, preparing schedules, performing internal audits and ensure compliance with GAAP. The Controller will also work closely with senior leadership to improve processes and suggest business improvements.
The Controller will be responsible for full cycle accounting, regulatory accounting, budgeting & forecasting, financial reporting, regulatory and tax issues.
