Outpatient Pharmacist Job Opening in Biloxi, Mississippi - GLC Government Services is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacist to work to work a Government contract at a military treatment center in Biloxi, MS.
Hours of Operation: Hours will start between 7:00am-11:00am and end between 4:00pm-8:00pm. Monday?Friday. Contractors will be required to work 8 hours per day, weekends, and nights will be determined, not to exceed 80 hours per two week period.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree in Pharmacy from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
The Outpatient Pharmacist shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted license to practice Pharmacy in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Must have a minimum of 12 months of consecutive, full-time Outpatient Pharmacist experience within the last 24 months in an outpatient hospital or clinic setting, or have graduated from an accredited school of pharmacy within the past 6 months.
Job Duties:
Perform a full range of pharmacist responsibilities
Counsel patients regarding appropriate use of medications.
Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing in order to closely monitor medication therapy.
Ensure prescription directions for use, dose, medication interactions, therapeutic duplications or overlaps, allergy information, age specific dosage, and other pertinent data are appropriate for individual patients. Intervention with providers shall be made for noted discrepancy of above listed items.
Compound medications as required.
Ensure accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.
Work closely with clinical staff in developing patient wellness programs and providing medication management therapy.
Provide medication information and medication therapy guidelines to the clinical staff as required.
Provide medication and healthcare related in-service training to clinical staff on new medications on the market; appropriate use of medications; comparison of current medication therapies; and other topics as deemed appropriate by the department head.
Provide clinical direction to pharmacy personnel.
Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and ensure pharmacy security. Maintain appropriate records and security of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulations.
Consult with other specialty practitioners to provide optimal pharmaceutical care.
Ensure that work areas are clean and safe according to applicable regulations.
Document significant medication interactions, and pharmacy interactions with prescribers. Conduct Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting in accordance with TJC standards.
Facilitate medical staff drug utilization reviews (DURs) as deemed necessary.
Provide clinical direction & evaluate care provided
Participate in various committees; regular and prompt attendance to Flight, Squadron and Group meetings as required.
Safely perform clinical pharmaceutical care functions and adheres to current infection Control and Safety Standards.
Perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance and out of stock reports.
A working knowledge of pharmacy computer systems such as CHCS, Essentris, PharmASSIST and Pyxis computer systems.
