Scheduling/Registration Specialist Job Opening in East Brunswick, New jersey - Accurately schedule patients for services at Bayonne Medical Center and affiliates. Obtain accurate demographic and financial information to facilitate proper handling of patient?s clinical and financial services and ensure accurate and appropriate billing for said services.
o Obtain accurate patient demographic information to include, picture id, valid contact information and financial data as applicable.
o Accurately enter scheduling information into scheduling systems
o Ensure accurate ordering physician information
o Facilitate the attainment of referrals and authorizations as applicable for services to support insurance carrier requisites, ensuring that the patient service will be delivered in a timely manner and billed accordingly.
o Obtain Medical Necessity and ABN acknowledgement as applicable.
o Follow organization protocol for release of information requests.
o Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. General computer skills and keyboard knowledge.
Courteous and professional at all times. Follows organizational dress code at all times. Working knowledge of general office skills inclusive of filing and management of department and other related paperwork in adherence to HIPAA and organizational policy. Good telephone and interpersonal communication skills. Good computer skills with ability to learn various applications as relative to support department, patient and organizational needs.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work under stressful conditions.
This position is per diem
Day Shift - 7:30am - 4:00pm

High school or equivalent
Required experience:
Recent or current in Healthcare: 1 year
