Policy Analyst Job Opening in Providence, Rhode island - The Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council (RIPEC) is currently seeking qualified applicants to join our research team. RIPEC conducts research on a variety of topics, including:
The state budget
Taxation and revenues
Municipal finance
Economic development and the state's business climate
Education
Workforce development
Healthcare and social services
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct literature reviews
Collect and analyze raw data or previously prepared reports
Evaluate and analyze the impact of proposed legislation and policies
Assist with the development of reports, presentations and recommendations for diverse audiences on the most pressing policy issues of state and local politics in Rhode Island
Monitor and attend General Assembly hearings and legislation
Prepare written and oral testimony regarding proposed legislation
Prepare and present research, analysis and legislative updates to the RIPEC Board of Directors and Trustees
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, economics, or related fields;
Graduate degree preferred but not required
Background in public policy or social science research
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Salary based on qualifications and experience of the candidate
