Our team includes both scientists and engineers (4 of which have doctorate degrees and 3 have advanced graduate degrees). We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to lead projects in the physical modeling of machinery behavior. This staff will be developing algorithms for multi-body dynamic (MBD) loads analysis of complex systems and for analysis of vibration and acoustics signatures to identify failures in machines. This leader will perform both the analysis, develop analysis algorithms and lead projects with other staff performing analysis. In addition to model and algorithm design, the candidate will work with the Sentient team for commercial software development and validation. Required: Physical modeling of machine behavior with finite element and multi-body dynamic software tools; linear and non-linear dynamic system analysis; analysis of structural acoustics and vibration, modal analysis, signal analysis; experience modeling dynamical behavior of the internal components of gearboxes, turbine engines, piston engines or other rotating systems. Understanding of machine behavior and failure to develop detection and prediction methodologies. Desired: Active control of sound and vibration, impact mechanics, fracture mechanics, SEA, FEA, BEA, laboratory and experimental experience such as data acquisition, front line machinery diagnostics, filter development, data procession and reduction, military or aerospace CBM and logistic systems, Vibration Analysis Certification Strong writing skills will be needed for proposal and report writing. A BS or MS in related engineering field is required with 5 years of relevant experience or a PhD. Familiarity with one or more common software for dynamic modeling is required: FAST, SIMPACK, ROMAX, ADAMS, MODELICA, RecurDyn, SIMULIA, MATLAB This new and incremental position will report directly to our Chief Scientist.
