Accounting Manager Job Opening in Virginia Beach, Virginia - Job Summary:
The accounting manager will work with the CFO to support all of the company?s general accounting, tax reporting, and accounts payable functions. Must have excellent analytical skills as well as strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge. Must have the ability to effectively multi-task and maintain a strong, positive team-oriented environment. Ability to consistently meet reporting and tax deadlines is critical. Strong written and verbal communications skills are required. Knowledge of sales/use tax and Canadian federal and provisional reporting is required.
Responsibilities:
Add & remove fixed assets from system & record monthly depreciation expense
Distribute ACH/wire activity to project managers to facilitate posting and resolve bank positive pay issues as required
Ensure all annual reports, business licenses, contractor licenses are filed timely
File all federal, state, and local income tax returns and make required payments
Ensure proper posting of cash receipts
Manage the AP process to ensure timely and accurate posting of invoices and supplier payments
Preparation and review of various month-end journal entries.
Complete monthly sales/use tax reporting
Preparation and review of various account reconciliations.
Provide financial analysis/support as needed.
Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance their professional development
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Supervision : Accounts Payable & General Accounting Staff
Education Requirements ? Bachelors in Accounting or higher required
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation and analysis.
Experience with filing sales/use tax returns, Canadian federal and provincial taxes, as well as Federal and State income taxes
Experience with filing annual state reports, business, and contractor licenses
