Commodities Trading Front Office Development Analyst Job Opening in Greenwich, Connecticut - Commodities Trading Front-Office Technology Representative required to join a specialist team within a leading hedge fund.
The successful candidate would fit a development analyst type mold and would join a Gas Trading environment and work within one of the most advanced technical environments in the financial industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for translating technology needs of the Gas Trading desk into viable software. You will work with traders and analysts to really understand the gaps in the technology solutions available to them, and then champion and adopt team wide software to the Gas desk.
You will also be expected to drive uniformity of technology solutions offered to the Gas desk to minimize support but be able to clearly separate tactical and strategic requests from the desk and solve them accordingly.
Other key responsibilities include:
Providing day-to-day support for our client?s production trading systems
Deploying and configuring new instances of software
Capacity management including monitoring and planning.
Disaster recovery planning and testing.
Working with the central infrastructure teams to design and manage our physical environment (hardware, networks, etc.)
Communicating and collaborating with the research, trading and software engineering teams to ensure that the software being built is well designed in terms of production deployment.
This role is based in either NYC or Greenwich, CT, and relocation is offered for the right candidate.
Candidate Qualifications:
For this role you must have a degree in computer science, electrical engineering or another relevant applied science. You should have 5+ years? experience with an object-oriented language and similar experience developing software for a front office desk.
You will need strong technical design skills, the ability to lead and influence a diverse set of people (Traders, Quants, Trading Assistants), and have a thorough knowledge of Commodities markets. Ideally you will have Python skills also, although this is not a necessity.
