Staff Accountant Job Opening in Clearwater, Florida - Position: Staff Accountant
Basic Function: The Staff Accountant works directly under the Controller and is accountable for maintaining financial records and general ledgers, performing general bookkeeping, verifying proper payment approval, processing payments in a timely manner, and ensuring that vendor discounts are taken.
Principal Accountabilities:
Responsible for daily accounting functions including but not limited to:
Paying vendor invoices and overhead invoices in a timely manner ( ACH, Check, Wires)
Recording and managing loan payments
Managing lease and distribution payments
Maintaining a log of uncashed checks and following up with vendors
Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts to the general ledger
Maintain prepaid expense and fixed assets schedule
Process expense reports
Process procurement card payments
Processing bi-weekly payroll
Assist with month-end closing procedure
Assist with audit and data requests as needed
Salary Rate : $40,000 - $45,000
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of A/P and general ledger experience
Excellent communication skills both written and oral with a professional demeanor
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Proficient in Word and Excel
Great Plains knowledge is preferred but not required.
