Tax Accountant Job Opening in New York, New york - Job Description:
We are a small boutique public accounting firm providing an interesting and comfortable professional environment for the all-around accountant who likes the challenge of doing it all and developing knowledge along the way. We are looking for a solid experienced tax professional who already is or wants to commence reviewing returns. 60% of our time is in taxation, 10% auditing and financial statement preparation and 30% accounting/other. Our clients are primarily service industries, non-profits, professional practices and high-income earners. Our work entails significant international and multi-state matters along with tax preparation and planning. There is a great deal of direct client contact. This is a great opportunity for the right professional to expand his/her knowledge base. Compensation is highly competitive with that of similar size firms and greater.
Skills and Experience:
-CPA or candidate
-minimum 5 years experience in the field of public accounting with emphasis in taxation
-individual, trusts and business tax preparation
-knowledge of GAAP financial statement preparation
-develop positive client relationships -software knowledge of the following is a plus: Prosystem Fx, Engagement, Quickbooks
-ability to supervise staff
-knowledgable enough to review and critique all work products

Small boutique public accounting firm with the following specialties: business advisory, international taxation, non-profit audits, Quickbooks set-up and training, divorce litigation and planning, tax planning and tax preparation for businesses, trusts and high-net worth individuals, asset recovery, custodian of assets for the Courts. The two partners are highly experienced, with backgrounds in the formerly "Big 8" firms and provide a great deal of "on the job" training.
