Buyer Job Opening in Albuquerque, New mexico - The Buyer position performs duties of a senior buyer by supporting Procurement department functions in carrying out its mission to support LDC and its subsidiaries. The Buyer will (i) assist in developing and then manage LDC?s asset/property management program, (ii) manage all software utilized by Procurement, such as Paramount to process purchase orders, DocuSign eSigning service for contracts, and any other software Procurement may later be asked to manage; (iii) assist LDC employees with any problems they may have utilizing Paramount, DocuSign and any other software managed by Procurement; (iv) carry out RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs; (v) manage electronic contract database and assist with records retention; (vi) process Requisitions and Purchase Orders; (vi) provide backup to Procurement Clerk, as needed, (vii) assist with warehouse projects, and (viii) from time to time assist on other projects undertaken by Procurement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Timely perform all duties in a manner consistent with LDC procurement policies and procedures.
Gather and maintain historical data necessary to generate statistical reports as may be required.
Assist in the development of a contract management database, and process improvement projects.
Manage software systems used by Procurement department, including helping LDC employees resolve problems they are having entering information into such systems.
Perform all functions required to enter and capture contracts and procurement data (e.g., generation of purchase orders, amendments, , data entry in software systems) to ensure that proper accounting requirements are met.
Assist with the development and solicitation process for RRFPs, RFQs, RFIs and projects related to sourcing events being pursued by Procurement department.
Monitor vendor performance including handling score card meetings, and communicate with vendors to address shortcomings in vendor?s performance.
Perform analysis of processes and recommend process improvements.
Maintain up to date knowledge and database to ensure Pueblo of Laguna Gaming Control Board/Tribal Gaming Regulatory Authority rules and regulations, Pueblo controls, Federal controls, and State controls as are adhered to.
Maintain a competitive procurement environment and knowledge with the development and solicitation of offers.
Maintain excellent communication (oral and written), organizational and analytical skills.
If necessary, work holidays.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience:
A Bachelor?s Degree from a four-year college or university required.
One to two years of relevant work experience in procurement as a Sr. Buyer or financial analyst.
Experience working as a team member and individually on procurement projects.
Experience being a subject matter expert on software systems, process improvement, cost benefit analysis, and project management required.
Licensing & Certification:
None
Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:
Experience as a subject matter expert working with software systems.
Proficient in basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Superior spreadsheet skills.
Experience in the use of finance and business software.
Essential Physical Requirements:
Requires employee to hear, sit, talk, and repetitively use hands the majority of the time.
Requires employee to occasionally stand and walk.
Requires employee to occasionally push/pull, carry, lift, and slide/transfer 1-25 lbs.
Essential Mental Demands:
Problem solving, organizing, planning, making decisions, interpreting data, reading and writing 75-100% of the time.
Work Environment (inside/outside):
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Other Requirements:
Obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna?s Gaming Control Board.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
