Controller Job Opening in Albuquerque, New mexico - Coldwell Banker Legacy is a full-service real estate firm that maintains offices across New Mexico and Texas providing Residential, Relocation, and Property Management real estate services. Coldwell Banker Legacy is seeking a well-qualified candidate for the position of Controller. The Controller will report to the CFO and will oversee the day-to-day activities of the accounting team, ensure the company?s accounting functions are accurate, organized and efficient, and produce timely financial and management reports.
Responsibilities include:
Financial Statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
Financial Statement review to include detailed analysis, research and follow up
Generation of all Balance Sheet reconciliations, including detailed reporting on multi-tiered reconciliations involving complex account activity
Daily cash flow preparation, monitoring and management
Creation of specialized reconciliations between multiple systems at detailed levels
Specialized ad-hoc reporting and tracking related to specifics that can range from the corporate level down to the unit level
Ensure that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
Manage all aspects of Financial Statement audits for banking and corporate franchise requirements
Administration of company?s 401(k) plan including year-end audits and data preparation for annual compliance testing
Tracking, monitoring and payment of all notes, rents and sublease income
Assist in the monitoring and renewals of insurance, leases and financing instruments
Requirements of the candidate:
Minimum of a bachelor?s degree in Accounting
Minimum of 3-5 years in an Assistant Controller or Controller position
Hands on experience with preparation of consolidated financial statements
Candidate must have the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail, possess good judgment showing logical decision making
Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and Financial Reporting software
Computer literate, with Advanced Excel skills. Comfortable working with many different systems and programs
Possess a hands-on attitude with the ability and willingness to evaluate problems and develop and implement resolutions
Proven ability to successfully manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for all departmental functions
Supervisory skills that facilitate growth, direction, review and development of staff in a positive manner
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Real Estate background or experience desirable, but not required
