Financial Controller Job Opening in Plano, Texas - POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced financial controller, or comptroller, to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.

OpenKey is the only open source platform solution for mobile keyless hotel room access. It can integrate into existing hotel applications, or serve as a stand-alone solution. OpenKey provides a single mobile application to open guest room doors at any participating hotel, so customers won?t have to download every application for the various hotel brands they frequent. The company?s open platform solution is designed to work with different types of mobile-optimized guest room electronic locks (RFID, NFC and Bluetooth-based locks). This gives each participating hotel the freedom to determine the best locks for their OpenKey entry program. Hotels who use the OpenKey technology are able to increase revenue by reducing overhead, improving guest satisfaction and increasing customer loyalty.

Responsibilities
Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements for investors
Support month-end and year-end close process
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Regular meetings with investors
Maintain banking relationships
Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
Develop financial and tax strategies
Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
Requirements
Proven working experience as a Financial controller
Ability to work in a startup environment
5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
Advanced degree in Accounting
CPA or CMA preferred
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
