Staff Accountant Job Opening in Saco, Maine - Cirrus LED Systems is a privately owned and growing start-up with offices in Saco, ME and San Francisco, CA that manufactures LED Sign Systems and LED lighting products. We combine a high quality LED system with a proprietary Cloud-Based technology providing clients with a superior and un-equaled advertising experience. This winning combination has led to our continued growth in our Portland office and the need for a full-time Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team.
The Accountant is responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, including:
General ledger - prepaid accounts, accruals, allocations, amortizations, and reclassifications
Billing and accounts receivable ? invoicing, sales orders, collections, and credit checks
Accounts payable - matching invoices/packing lists/purchase orders, processing checks and credit card payments and vendor management.
Bank account reconciliations and Cash management - make deposits, process credit card payments and reconcile accounts, as well as reviewing and posting journal entries.
Payroll preparation including payroll tax reporting and remittance
Develop and own the monthly close process; prepare month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Maintain accurate fixed asset schedule, prepare depreciation entries
Filing of taxes and returns as related to state and federal requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
years of progressive accounting experience
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)
Strong proficiency with accounting systems - specifically QuickBooks
Self-starter effective at multi-tasking and time management
Strong Excel skills
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently and accurately
Capability to work in a faced paced environment
Excellent communication skills
