Airline Materials and Purchasing Manager Job Opening in Maitland, Florida - Duties, Responsibilities, and Authority
Plan, direct and coordinate purchasing materials, products and services. This individual provides parts/ materials and services at the most cost effective manner, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Responsible for purchasing, repair and storage of spare parts in accordance with the procedures defined in Via Airlines' General Maintenance Manual
Responsible for the oversight and supervision of Purchasing personnel
Responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory to support Via Airlines aircrafts
Responsible for ensuring that all stations and purchasing personnel complete the required training for HAZMATs, shipping and receiving, and any additional training defined in Via Airlines' approved/accepted, as applicable, manuals that are pertinent to the duties and responsibilities defined herein
Responsible for shipping component parts to outstations and/or vendors when required
Procure and expedite parts/materials to support line and heavy maintenance, along with replenishing stock
Ensure that parts repair vendors used by Via Airlines are on the Approved Maintenance Provider list or have notified the Quality Control Department for updating to include such provider
Obtain multiple price quotes for part/material and services when available
Liaison with accounting department
Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Assist with AOG purchasing when needed
Requirements
Airline experience is a must!
Knowledge of EMB-120 and ERJ-145 is a plus
Ability to work long hours
Ability to travel
Strong management skills
Strong negotiation skills
Strong organizational skills
