Accounting Manager Job Opening in New York, New york - The Accounting Manager will be an integral part of the finance team and will have responsibility for accounting functions across several companies. This position promotes maximum fiscal responsibility, safeguards the Company?s assets and ensures compliance with established accounting standards. The primary responsibility of this position is an accurate monthly closing of our financial ledgers in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the accounting function to ensure timely month-end closings.
Compile month-end balance sheet analysis file and certain key P&L accounts, consisting of account reconciliations or schedules, to review with Controller by end of the subsequent month.
Establish responsibilities as to Balance Sheet account analysis
Prepare monthly trial balance. Include explanations on variances from month to month.
Review and approve all account analyses prepared by others.
Work with controller in compilation of annual budget.
Maintain thorough files relating to our Licensors and royalty obligations. Personally maintain Accrued/Prepaid Royalty schedule by Licensor to ensure accurate accounting on the Balance Sheet and P&L each month.
Ensure timely payments of Gross Minimum Royalty (GMR) and royalty settlements.
Manage and review of account reconciliations, ensuring resolution of all reconciling items in a timely manner.
Significant participation in external audits, including preparation of audit schedules.
Coordinate and manage information flow between accountants and external auditors, adhering to strict deadlines
Manage all reporting in regard to bank agreements, Prepare monthly Borrowing Base Certificate manage any bank audits.
Train, develop, and mentor staff as needed.
Other ad hoc projects as assigned.
