Director of QA and Automated Testing Job Opening in Carmel, Indiana - Director of Software Quality Assurance ? Automation
Location: Carmel, IN
Overview:
This is a new position in the company!
The company currently utilizes automated testing tools, and now wants to bring all the QA team under one person who can further the development of automation. In addition, because the parent company has two other development centers, this role will collaborate with those other teams to assist them in moving forward.
Situation:
The software development environment here is very successful, and is completely immersed in Agile, continuous integration, and test driven development. The QA team (of 8-9 personnel) is embedded in the scrum teams, and there are automation tools in place. The objective of this hire is to lead the continued expansion of automated testing, to evaluate and recommend any new tools, and to mentor the current staff.
In addition ? the parent company has two other divisions with which this role may collaborate to assist those teams with their adoption of automation. Therefore, some limited travel will be required.
Job Duties:
Lead QA team members working within multiple Agile Scrum teams.
Mentor and coach software quality analysts (SQA) and software quality engineers (SQE).
Build strong relationships across Technology and other business departments.
Lead and assist in the development of software testing strategies for test automation, manual testing, and performance testing.
Monitor and report on quality goals and software quality metrics.
The Ideal Candidate:

The experience we are searching for is as follows:
Experience managing and mentoring software quality engineers
In depth knowledge of QA methodologies and processes
Experience implementing automation tools, such as Selenium, Ranorex, Rational, etc.
Performance and security testing exposure is a ?plus?
Excellent ?consensus building? abilities; strong team work traits
A Bachelor?s degree is required.
