Web Programmer/Analyst Job Opening in Lima, Ohio - POSITION DUTIES:
The Web Programmer/Analyst will work with College leadership to ensure the development and deployment of various database driven applications specifically developing, designing, creating content, workflow, supporting College?s SharePoint site and or website, online services, interactive forms, portals, intranet and integrations with other internal and third-party systems.
This position leverages web best practices and requires a passion for developing high quality innovative, scalable solutions. The individual is responsible for the administration, incident response, troubleshooting college web site environment, with a focus on the underlying infrastructure. The individual should be team-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment with competing priorities across multiple Some weekend and/or evening hours may be required.
In collaboration within IS and with other departments, this position will lead application development and maintenance of the College?s current and future web applications and related databases.
Ensures that sites conform to and comply with current and evolving database / web standards, are reliable, secure, current, and performs optimally to meet constituent?s needs.
Requires excellent oral and written communications skills.
Work with vendors. Collaborates with end users to develop functional requirements, create, test, and rapidly modify prototype applications as necessary to meet project requirements.
Optimizes and automates processes in order to reduce ongoing IS support costs.
Ability to generate reports on various metrics and provide feedback on critical systems.
Design, develop, and support workflows using custom web forms.
Proficiency in MS-SQL.
Update and expand existing programs and applications.
Manage server farm configuration, architecture, and installation of Application Services such as Search, Excel, Managed Metadata, Business Connectivity, User Profiles etc.
Collect metrics data and generate a series of weekly and monthly reports for college leadership team.
Assist on creating SharePoint information architecture constructs such as Master Pages, content types, site columns, lists, templates, page layouts, metadata etc.
Designing, developing and updating Web-Forms.
Working with the Software Development Life Cycle, Testing, and Implementation of client / server application using C# and SQL Server with N-tier development environment.
Analyzing, designing, developing and implementing multi-tier web based applications and distributed applications using web services.
Experience in Web service, ASMX, WCF, MVC4, ORM Framework (Entity or hibernate), and SQL server.
Developing application frameworks and understanding of enterprise application frameworks like MVC.
Strong Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming skills and good understanding of various software design patterns.
Migrate legacy application / databases to updated version.
Experience in writing Stored Procedures, Trigger and User Defined Functions in SQL Server 2005/2008/2012.
Access data including using Data Adapter, Data Reader and Data Set, Entity Data Set, Entity Framework in and Language Integrated Query (LinQ), LinQ to SQL and LinQ to Object.
SQL Server database design, development and in writing Constraints, Constraints Indexes, Views, Stored Procedures, Cursors, Triggers and User Defined Functions.
Strong Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming skills and good understanding of various software design patterns.
Other duties as assigned.
MAJOR WORK
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor?s degree in a computer related field required with a minimum of three years? experience in programming / database or the equivalent in education and experience in demonstrated expertise. Advanced working skills with relational database technologies and structured query language. Experience with Visual Studio, VIM, CSS, JSON, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML/XHTML. PHP, Apache, IIS, MS-SQL, , MVC, , Bootstrap for CSS, Ajax, are highly desired.
Working knowledge of SOLARIS, UNIX and Windows operating systems is a plus. Must be able to be responsive to customer needs and organize projects. Requires strong communications and critical thinking skills; a self-motivator, an appreciation for working with diverse individuals, and an interest in lifelong learning. Must be committed to the mission of a two-year college.
