IT Budget Analyst Job Opening in Topeka, Kansas - Analyzes monthly expenditures for accounting accuracy, preparing journal entries and budget transfers as necessary
Resolves billing issues with vendors and internal customers
Works closely with the Tax Department to ensure appropriate taxes are assessed according to state tax laws
Assists in the development of new processes and approaches for creating, entering, maintaining and reporting budget and results information
Responsible for assisting in maintaining the integrity of the IT department accounting, including preparation and review of monthly budget reports, project and job task creation and estimates and closure, amortization schedule preparation and reconciliation, revenue analysis, department goal tracking and completing various reports for review by department management.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field and have experience in budget and financial analysis
Must have a current, valid driver's license
CPA certification preferred
Proficiency in using MS Office applications, specifically mastery in Excel is required. Experience using PowerPlan and PeopleSoft is preferred
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills
Proven record of understanding accounting and financial reporting
Must have more than four years of demonstrated job experience using business math, basic writing, effective communications (including one-on-one), training and technical reading skills as well as skills in interpersonal relations, handling conflict, organizing, analyzing, planning, judgment, listening, decision making, cooperation, sensitivity to others, technical problem solving, and system troubleshooting
Must have at least one year of demonstrated job experience in advanced math, business writing, and public speaking as well as demonstrated abilities in handling anger, assertiveness, leadership, team building, counseling, and coaching (mentoring)
