Billing Specialist Job Opening in Ottawa, Kansas - ELC is seeking a reliable, mature individual for a full-time accounts receivable position processing insurance claims for a community mental health center. Primary job functions include: posting Medicaid/KanCare payments, working denials/aged accounts, maintaining confidentiality and performing other billing related functions. Some billing background and claims experience with Kansas Medicaid/Kancare is preferred . Training is provided.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and monitors the Medicaid/KanCare accounts coordinating with the MCOs and ELC providers through internet based systems, call centers, spreadsheets and ELC billing system
Posts Medicaid/KanCare charges, payments and all other tasks relating to Medicaid/KanCare claims
Set-up and/or modify coverage plans and authorizations in PsychConsult as needed
Utilize the Accounts Receivable Report to monitor and work the aged Medicaid/KanCare Accounts for denied claims and other delays in payment
Corrects claims and files recoupments, reconsiderations, appeals as appropriate
Provides back-up assistance for submitting and managing AIMS data
Provides back-up assistance when requested to generate and submit weekly claims
Provides back-up assistance for authorizations/OTRs and SED Waiver issues
Communicate openly and timely with staff and management regarding trend concerns, eligibility concerns and other issues as they arise
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee
Complies with ELC policies and procedures
