Lead Processor - Injection Molding Job Opening in Austell, Georgia - EG Industries is seeking highly motivated individuals to be a part of our team! We are hiring Lead Processors to work in our Plastics Injection Molding Facility. Shifts are 6am - 6pm or 6pm - 6am (continental shifts - 3 days one week, 4 days the next week). Position summary:
Perform molding process support to ensure product conformance to standard with minimum production time lost. Assists in training, development and implementation of manufacturing processes. Assists in troubleshooting and problem solving activities.
Position duties: May include, but not limited to:
§ Keep Shift Supervisor informed of any abnormalities in the production flow
§ Inform Technicians of any defects found in a timely manner
§ Monitor production quality to standards
§ Inspection of part appearance according to product standards
§ Evaluates daily the past 24 hours of production scrap metal and identifies root causes. If applicable, may provide corrective action initiatives
§ Assists in maintaining mold processes per process specifications
§ Provide technical training to mold technicians
§ Assists in ensuring that tools and equipment are ready for production
§ Assists in ensuring accurate direct material usage in area of responsibility
§ Identify maintenance issues and ensure timely and effective countermeasures
§ Ensure that first off?s are complete and well documented
§ Perform preventative maintenance when necessary
§ Ensure that all the auxiliary molding processing equipment is in optimum condition and maintained
§ Perform mold and material changeover as per proper procedures
§ Starts up of molds and molding equipment as per approved standard procedure developed
§ Maintain molding process in tolerance as per Master Set Up Sheet
§ Maintain close communication with operator, supervisors and process engineers to timely meet quality and delivery
§ Clean mold machines as per Manufacturing Molding Procedures and Guidelines
§ Inform the Molding Process Engineer of any possible improvement that involves the molding process This includes peripheral equipment
§ Timely address and communicate any concern regarding safety, quality, processing, and related equipment downtime to Process Engineer
§ Responsible for keeping and maintaining all molding equipment clean and organized at all time
§ Attend all required meetings and training when scheduled
§ Maintain a safe and clean work area
§ Must be knowledgeable in required personal protective equipment
§ Must be a team player
§ Other duties as assigned
Required skills and experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner. Working knowledge of plastics processing and a broad base of skills in electronics, hydraulics, and mechanics. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
Grade 12 or equivalent
3 years? experience in plastics injection mold
Safety Requirements :
Must observe and practice all safety regulations. This includes the wearing and proper usage of the necessary personal protective equipment required for any task.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
May have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally may maneuver up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include but not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Must be able to stand continuously for the duration of scheduled shift.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to forklift traffic and moving production lines. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The climate within the production area is not controlled.

Must be able to work overtime and to work overtime at short notice (call in)
Must be able to work well with other associates and follow all company rules, regulations and company policies
