Command Alkon, a global leader in integrated technology solutions to the concrete and construction materials industry for over 40 years, has a unique opportunity to fill a Software Development Manager at the Draper, UT location.
Job Responsibilities
Manage a team of development engineers to ensure the successful completion of development and maintenance activities for specific products. These products may include hardware components.
Provide leadership for small and large sized projects in the development group.
Provide technical mentorship and coaching to staff members.
Research new technology or development tools to remain abreast of current technology to maintain and expand the skillsets in the group necessary to support current and future needs.
Researching and understand marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
Requirements
Bachelor?s Degree in Business, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field required
6-9 years? experience of technical nature within a software development environment, with previous management experience preferred.
Agile project management experience, including use of agile project management tools (i.e. Confluence, JIRA, Git, etc.). Excellent skills in analysis, design, research, project planning & implementation and project deployment required.
Skills in understanding the entire development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required with a demonstrated ability to develop a strong team.
Technologies
Java ? Expert-level implementation skills with Java and J2EE.
Spring ? Expert-level implementation skills with the Core Spring Framework and including other sub-projects like Spring Security and Spring Integration.
Database ?Must be highly proficient in SQL preferably across multiple databases.
Web ? Expert-level implementation skills with building modern web applications using frameworks like jQuery, jQuery UI, Bootstrap and Responsive Design techniques.
Application Servers ? Broad and deep understanding of Apache and Tomcat in both a hosted and cloud infrastructure.
Day and overnight travel (U.S. and International) is required, sometimes on short notice, up to 20%.
