Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer Job Opening in Denver, Colorado - Ross Search Partners is looking for a Platform Engineer for our client in downtown Denver. Our client is a software engineering and professional services firm offering end-to-end solutions in the areas of Cloud Virtualization, , Digital Transformation, Application Development and Consulting. This company has been steadily growing the last 15 years, is continuing to gain well known enterprise customers so needs to grow their team in Denver. They have a presence on both coasts but the largest team of engineers is right here in LoDo.
While we are looking for some core skills, our client recognizes that the best engineers are people with a strong technical aptitude, a desire to learn and solid communication skills. If you haven?t worked with Amazon, Google Cloud, Kubernetes or Continuous Integration tools but want to get some hands on experience, this may be the right place to do so. Joining this team will give you the chance to work on the following types of projects:
Assisting Fortune 500 companies migrate their existing infrastructure and data center stack to a fully cloud based environment
Helping clients increase software delivery speed and move to a microservices approach
Implementing scalable and reliable systems in the cloud utilizing the Netflix OSS stack
Working on project utilizing Spinnaker architecture for managing deployments across multiple cloud services
Main Responsibilities:
Help create end-to-end processes for the continuous delivery of microservices and infrastructure
Build and document all aspects of the runtime platform prior to production
Help develop automation tools for building, testing, and deploying microservices
Deploy and document integration tools, artifact repositories and cloud resources
Investigate network, microservice and application outages
Use and develop tools to monitor the health of microservices and applications
What we are looking for:
Experience with one of more languages
Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code and what is required for applications to be cloud native
Understanding of Linux systems and administration
Working knowledge of version control systems
Experience building, installing, configuring and patching software and services (Make, Maven, Gradle, Grunt or Gulp)
Experience with automation, configuration management and cloud provisioning tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Terraform)
Continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Nexus or Artifactory)
Familiarity with cloud based environments (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
