Accounting Assistant Job Opening in Sarasota, Florida - Williams Parker is seeking a qualified candidate for an Accounting Assistant position. The Accounting Assistant serves as back up for and is able to perform all accounts receivable and payable duties as well as billing clerk duties. The position requires exemplary technical and organizational skills, attention to detail, strong client service skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Duties include:
Accounts receivable
Reconcile and verify receipts to issued invoices and billing memos.
Receipt all funds and post accounting system
Manage outstanding deposit check
Accounts payable
Reconcile and code vendor invoices and follow up on invoice discrepancies.
Post charges to Matters for billing purposes
Coordinate receipt of W-9 vendors
Process disbursement checks.
New client matter intake / conflict of interest checking
Enter new client information into accounting system.
Client file maintenance
Billing clerk
Review and edit pre-bills
Apply funds as directed by attorneys
Execute simple bills
Back up for sending outgoing wires
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience working in an accounts payable/receivable position. Bookkeeping and experience using Quickbooks are a plus. High school diploma is required.
