Assistant Controller Job Opening in Carson City, Nevada - Carson Tahoe Health is actively seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Corporate Controller by overseeing and coordinating the accounting, reimbursements and financial reporting functions and staff for Carson Tahoe Health System entities (Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare, Carson Tahoe Continuing Care, Sierra Surgery Hospital, Carson Tahoe Physician Clinics, Carson Tahoe Cardiology and Carson Tahoe Physician Hospital Organization).
Coordinates production of monthly financial statements for all entities, including the consolidation. Provides analysis of financial statements and accounting records for all entities, to ensure accurate presentation.
In coordination with Decision Support, maintains and supports the McKesson HEFM financial system and works with staff to develop more comprehensive use of the system. Coordinates and supervises onsite visits by external auditors.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting from accredited four year program
CPA preferred.
Minimum five (5) years progressively responsible financial accounting experience in a hospital or closely related healthcare organization
Lead accountant or supervisory experience required
Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite and decision support applications
Demonstrated ability to perform financial analyses and apply GAAP principles
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
