Practice Manager Job Opening in Scottsbluff, Nebraska - Practice or Clinic Manager needed for busy Internal Medicine Clinic that includes a number of sub-specialties including GI, Oncology, Nephrology, Diabetes Care, Palliative Care and Pulmonary practices. Experienced clinic management preferred. Specific of job including duties and compensation will be based upon experience of candidates.
All the criteria-based duties and standards within this document will be performed according to established policies, procedures and guidelines with the department and Regional West Physicians Clinic.
JOB SUMMARY
The Practice Manager is responsible for successfully managing and operating a clinic(s) involving one or more specialty disciplines and/or clinic sites. Provides staff and providers with the resources required to meet quality and safe patient care and the financial objectives of the assigned group practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Monitor day to day clinic operations, rounding daily in clinics to monitor environment. Facilitate monthly staff and provider meetings and daily huddles.
Utilize communication skills effectively when interacting with patients, families, staff, clinic/nurse managers, providers and other Regional West departments.
Communicate clinic and system policies, initiatives and priorities to providers and staff timely and professionally.
Act as a patient liaison when patient satisfaction or safety issues arise.
Work with Executive Director to develop clinic strategic plans and objectives based upon needs of patients and practice(s).
Promote positive interactions when interfacing with external providers, health care facilities and community agencies to build satellite relationships.
Review accounts receivable reports as required.
Ensure medical equipment receives appropriate maintenance and updates as needed.
Participates in the annual budget process.
Monitor expenditures and follow budgetary guidelines.
Code and forward all bills for payment to Finance.
Monitor and research unbilled encounters to ensure proper documentation for charge capture and claim submission.
Work closely with the Central Business Office to resolve claim denials and other billing concerns.
Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
Participate in the selection, training and supervision of clerical and nursing staff.
Participate in staff supervision, annual performance evaluations and corrective action processes with general direction and guidance of HR Director.
Receptive to staff and provider suggestions and take action to solve problems that interfere with patient satisfaction, work environment and employee engagement.
Coordinate staff schedules, including employee requests for PTO, EIB and leaves making sure key positions are covered daily.
Provide support for the payroll function through administration of employee timecards and approval to meet set timelines.
Assist the Director of Clinical Services in the formulation and administration of policies, procedures and operations regarding quality, safe patient care. Assure that the quality of nursing care complies with professional standards of care (CLIA, OSHA, etc.) and are in line with job description.
Coordinate requests for education and monitor licensure of licensed staff.
Maintains adequate staffing with appropriate schedules for nursing staff at the assigned RWPC clinics. Flex nursing hours between the RWPC clinics in cooperation with RWPC Nurse Managers (cross-training of the nurses occurs in the clinics so flexing becomes an option).
Attend and participate in approved/requested committees and meetings.
Provides first rate, patient-centered customer service at all times , personally adding to a positive and effective team focused environment while being fiscally responsible to aid in the delivery of quality, safe patient care and the success of Regional West Health Services as a whole.
All other duties as assigned.
The Practice Manager will supervise nursing staff. A Clinic Manager will co-manage with a Nurse Manager.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of principles and practices of healthcare planning and management including revenue cycle.
Knowledge of practice management computer systems and applications.
Knowledge of the policies and procedures of a clinic sufficient to direct its operations and to provide effective patient care.
Knowledge of government and reimbursement regulations and requirements
Knowledge of Privacy laws and policy.
Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
