Residential Director Job Opening in Phoenix, Arizona - Who We Are:
Community Options, Inc. is a Non-Profit and Healthcare company which develops residential and employment supports for people with severe disabilities, utilizing technology and training. We recognize that people with the most severe disabilities need environments, equipment, clinical and staff support that are tailored to their very specific needs.
The Director of Residential Services maintains a high quality program in accordance with the
mission statement and national office standards of Community Options, Inc., i.e.: small homes,
personalized supports, supported employment and person-centered planning. This individual
must be able to handle the pressure of training in a public environment, exercise patience, work
with flexible schedule, and respond to crisis situations. Ingenuity and creativity must be utilized
when determining the best training methods, assistance, and supports for an individual.
What You Will Be Doing:
Presents problems and recommends any necessary changes in current policy and procedures to the Executive Director.
Assists the Executive Director with employment related issues, including the preparation of the necessary paperwork and documentation.
Makes recommendations to the Executive Director for the development of current and future programs.
Completes staff evaluations.
Monitors and maintains residential budget.
Monitors and schedules required staff training's, seminars, and conferences.
Monitors fiscal, medical, personal and Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP) documentation to ensure accuracy.
Participates in Circle(s) of Support for personal future planning.
Monitors and schedules house and vehicle maintenance.
Assists in maintaining and monitoring of individual finances.
Monitors and reports health and medical needs of individuals.
Builds a support network between the individuals and community members.
Prepares progress reports for consumer's immediate support group, including their family and/or guardian, staff, employment specialist, case manager, and other professionals.
Ensures consistent service delivery that connects work, home and recreational needs.
Serves as an active member of each person?s Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT), which includes involvement in Individual Habilitation Plan development.
Submits monthly written reports to the appropriate individuals outlining operational status, progress, and concerns.
May perform the duties of Community Support Staff as necessary, in accordance with current staffing needs.
Experience/Skills Needed:
Bachelor?s degree plus one year experience in a related field; or
High school diploma with 3 years? experience in related field, in lieu of degree.
Understanding and commitment to community based support for persons with disabilities.
Flexibility to deal with people at a variety of levels, both internally and externally.
Ability to exercise good judgement and use common sense.
Knowledge and understanding of local regulatory agency operations.
Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
Excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritize.
Excellent crisis management skills.
Required Licenses and/or Certificates:
First Aid, CPR, OSHA, and Medication Certification course within first 90 days of employment,
Management Training, and any required residential or state training.
Community Options, Inc. orientation.
Valid driver?s license with good driving record.
