Head of Finance Job Opening in Burlington, Massachusetts - The purpose of this role is to direct, control and administer the financial activities of the organization. It involves providing the CEO, CFO and the Board with financial assessments and information which will ensure planning and budgeting activities meet corporate goals. Also to ensure the company?s financial reporting and statutory obligations are met and managing all legal and secretarial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial
In consultation with other senior management, make recommendations and devise financial policy approaches and strategies.
Establish and direct the organisation?s financial administrative activities and operational procedures to ensure the organisation?s profits are protected.
Providing advice where necessary on costing strategies to optimise value and profit for the company.
Undertake the Company Secretarial function. Administer activities which require compliance with legal, financial, corporate or statutory matters.
Provide financial information and interpretations to other management.
Give assessments of proposals involving financial expenditure and the financial status of operational projects.
Control activities such as taxation, credit policy, cash flow and investment policy, costing and expense control, preparation of audits, administration of contracts, insurance arrangements and property administration.
Provides costing and financial advice on projects, providing advice and identifying options or recommendations.
Planning and Reporting
Plan the financial operations of the organisation.
Direct the collection of financial and accounting information and the preparation of budgets, reports, forecasts, and consolidated profit and loss reports.
Leadership
Represent the organization in dealings with the organization?s auditors, legal advisors, major suppliers and others as required.
Make policy decisions and accept responsibility for operations, performance of staff, achievement of targets and adherence to budgets, standards and procedures.
Control the selection and training of finance staff, establish lines of control and delegate responsibilities to subordinate staff.
QUALIFICATIONS /EXPERIENCE
CA/CPA Qualified & Degree in Accounting / Finance.
10 years+ management and accounting experience of which at least 5 years must be recent experience in a lead finance position.
Ideally has 10+ years in industry ideally within a facilities management, retail, service based organization coupled with experience within a chartered environment (Big 4).
Outstanding skills in financial management, reporting and analysis applicable to a services business
Ability to provide appropriate advice in respect of the above to senior executive management and Board of Directors.
Ability to professionally represent the finance function at the highest level both within the organisation and externally
Strong PC, financial systems, and data manipulation skills.
Strong working knowledge of taxation and corporate governance issues
