Controller - Part time Job Opening in North Andover, Massachusetts - The Simon Group, Inc., is a growing, fast-paced marketing communications agency located in North Andover, MA with an immediate opening for a part time* Controller. This person will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, as well as, financial reporting, cash management, and financial planning/analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform all accounting functions including recording and reconciling A/R, A/P, and GL
Reconcile checkbook and credit card statements
Develop month-end and year-end close out processes
Create and maintain operating budget, payroll budget, and annual cash projections and prepare forecasts as required throughout the year
Monitor monthly budgets, costs, and cash flow and provide monthly financial reports
Develop Project Analysis Reports for Account Managers
Assist and counsel Management in the interpretation of financial data and recommend courses of action to maximize profitability.
Oversee payroll function with outside payroll company
Coordinate with outside CPA firm to prepare tax returns and account analysis
Develop and document business process and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Skills Required:
Experience with Project Based Accounting and GAAP
Self-starter with a positive attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and presentation skills
Organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills
Thinks strategically with excellent problem solving skills
Strong financial planning and analysis capabilities, data analysis techniques, and common database query skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting
5+ years experience as a Controller or related position
An advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks
