Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant Job Opening in Demopolis, Alabama - Position Description: Bookkeeper will responsible for maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; paying vendors, preparing invoices, preparing monthly financial reports, and financial records are kept in compliance with standard generally accepted accounting principles.
K ey Responsibilities:
Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
Maintains accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Balances accounts by reconciling entries monthly.
Maintains general ledger, trial balances; and reconciles entries.
Maintains historical records by filing documents.
Prepares invoices per vendor requirements.
Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
Candidates should have an Associate's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience, as well as knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles. Candidates must have experience working with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Word software package. Experience with reporting research results and explaining complex financial information is preferred. Ideal candidates should have excellent data entry, organizational, written, and oral communication skills. This position is a non-exempt position.
