Clinical Documentation Specialist Job Opening in pensacola, Florida - Clinical Documentation Specialist PCMS is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to perform the duties consistent with their license, certification, registry, education, or experience. CDS will Demonstrate a working knowledge of auditing concepts and principles and experience with or an understanding of InterQual, SIM plus, or other similar medical necessity evaluation tool. Possess and maintain certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist by the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists. Possess and maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) for the Professional Rescuer; or equivalent. Educational Requirements Bachelor?s of Science Degree in a relevant Health Information Management field of study and certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator, a Registered Health Information Technologist, or Certified Coding Specialist, Possess a minimum of 5 years experience working in a health care setting reading and understanding clinical and hospital treatment records and coding of facility and/or professional services using MS-DRG grouping, ICD-9-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines, and of care delivery documentation systems and related medical record documents required. OR Possess credential of a Medical Doctor, a Physician Assistant, or Bachelor?s of Science Registered Nurse, AND Possess a minimum of 3 years inpatient hospital experience and demonstrate a working knowledge of MS-DRG grouping, ICD-9-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines, and of care delivery documentation systems and related medical record documents. Demonstrate a working knowledge of auditing concepts and principles and experience with or an understanding of InterQual, SIM plus, or other similar medical necessity evaluation tool. Possess and maintain certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist by the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists.
