Controller/Accounting Manager Job Opening in Clawson, Michigan - Burn Fitness is a privately owned club looking to hire a skilled professional who has a genuine passion to change people's lives through health and fitness, not merely crunch numbers.
The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of a system of accounting records, and comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company?s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with GAAP. The controller also works with ownership to assess cash and risk management.
Principal Accountabilities:
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Design an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department?s goals and objectives
Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on A/P
Ensure that all A/R are collected promptly
Process payroll in a timely manner
Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed
Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
Maintain the chart of accounts for all companies
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Issue timely and complete financial statements
Coordinate the preparation of corporate annual report
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Ensure tax compliance
Maintain accurate fixed asset records; ensure that all appropriate depreciation rates are applied to assets
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, Accounting
CPA License
