Accountant Job Opening in Southaven, Mississippi - POSITION TITLE: Accountant
DEPARTMENT: Accounting
REPORTS TO: Controller
POSITION PURPOSE Perform tasks necessary to accurately balance and update general ledger and subsidiary accounts and perform other accounting-related duties. Prepare various accounting reports and reconciliations as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Prepares journal entries, daily account analysis and reconciliation. May perform daily reconciliation and settlement of various medical supply products and services, including Credit Cards, Bank transactions, Employee Health Insurance, 401K, Cash and Vendor statements. Cross train in all areas of Accounting including Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Fixed Assets, Prepaid and Accrual accounts and all monthly financial reporting. Reviews, reconciles, maintains and verifies all bank accounts and general ledger accounts. Identifies areas of improvement to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency while maintaining internal controls. Creates and maintains various spreadsheets and/or reports for analysis upon request. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MUST HAVE Three to Five years of high level accounting experience with experience using QuickBooks, Fixed Assets, Prepaids, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Reconciliation and State Tax filing. Centricity Advance Excel knowledge and Medical experiences a plus.
: Bachelor?s degree in accounting or other related field strongly preferred or equivalent experience with a solid understanding of GAAP.
