About the Job
Overview:
A fully qualified Accountant who is responsible for independently performing moderately complex as well as routine aspects of accounting functions and general ledger activities, requiring a working knowledge of GAAP.
Essential functions of the position :
Maintains general ledger accounts; accruals; preparing monthly entries for fixed asset depreciation, accruals, amortization and cost allocations, produces all financial and variance reports
Summarizes current financial status by analyzing general ledger accounts; compiling and submitting financial statements
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collection and analyzing account information
Performs bank reconciliation monthly, verifies all deposits, addresses questions and problems from banking institutions
Avoids legal challenges by complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements
Provides financial information by answering accounting procedure questions; researching and interpreting accounting and HR policy and regulation
Ability to show awareness of cost/benefit considerations and train other staff to do the same
Operates with sound judgment on financial decisions
Ensure accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and that accounts receivables are collected promptly
Review payroll preview to ensure data is accurate
Identify ways to improve processes and/or better utilize; and present to leadership
Preparation of all financials, tax reports and statements
HR liaison and compliance
All other day-to-day accounting duties
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting
CPA License preferred, but not required
Minimum of 5 years experience
Technically competent with various software programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, etc.
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Flexible and adaptable during times of change
Strong written and oral communication skills
Team player
