Specific Responsibilities:
Maintain project related records, including contracts, change orders and billings
Review supplier invoices and terms related to projects and ensure proper coding
Ensure supplier invoices are properly coded, timely approved and submitted for payment
Review time sheets for work related to a project and ensure proper coding
Investigate project variances and ensure proper resolution
Follow up on outstanding and past due billings in coordination with A/R staff
Report on profitability of projects to management
Identify opportunities for additional billings or claims
Create all project billings for customers
Assist in questions from customers related to billings and resolve timely
Investigate any project expenses not billed to customers
Continuously monitor cash flow of projects
Assist with any compliance reporting related to projects, including tax
Assist in compiling the project assessment questionnaires
Assist with all internal and external audit requests
Serve as a liaison between accounting and operations
Serve as a knowledgeable accounting resource to operations personnel
Assist with implementation of new revenue recognition guidance
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting Preferred
5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation
Immense attention to detail required
Knowledge of Timberline a plus
In addition, the individual must have 1) excellent computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Word & Access), 2) the interpersonal skills to work well with other employees, 3) the ability to identify accounting problems and the problem-solving skills to resolve these issues, 4) immense attention to detail, and 5) exceptional oral and communication skills.
