Accountant/Controller Job Opening in Miami, Florida - Position Description:
The Controller position will be responsible for overseeing the finance function of the company, including transaction processing and monthly close, payroll, financial reporting and analysis and sales tax. This position will report to the CEO of the company.
Responsibilities:
Transaction processing ? AR, AP, banking, expense reports;
Semi-monthly preparation of employee and 1099 payroll;
Inventory management including monthly reconciliation to QB?s GL, costing and physical counts;
Monthly close of company general ledger and account reconciliations;
Financial reporting and analysis of business unit sales and profitability;
Sales tax report preparation and filing;
Oversee the collection of accounts receivable;
Implement financial policies and processes to improve overall efficiency and control;
Support the operations in the establishment of operational and financial metrics that will help drive profitability or cost cutting measures;
Development of a process to drive BU and product margin improvement.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field;
A minimum of 5 years of accounting and/or finance experience;
Must possess strong problem-solving skills and technical abilities; ability to think and plan in a proactive and innovative manner;
Energetic and positive attitude with attention to detail;
Consumer products and inventory cost accounting experience preferred;
Strong communication skills both oral and written;
Team player with the ability to produce high-quality work;
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities;
Advanced level skills in MS Excel and Word;
Experience working with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred.
