The Staff Accountant is a business partner with the plant and supports the financial management team. Responsible for General Ledger support, month-end closing, reconciliations, tax reporting and other general accounting duties.
Functions and duties include:
Understand plant operations and their impact on the financial statements
Participate in the month-end closing process, including creating journal entries and related supporting schedules
Answer various audit and tax requests
Monitor financial activity to verify policies and procedures are followed; perform account analysis and reconciliation
Review General Ledger activity to ensure correct coding
Assist business in understanding variances between actual and standard costs
Assist in annual budgeting process
Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects
Assist and support other Accounting staff as needed
Keep management informed of activities and any significant concerns; identify problems and make suggestions
Required Experience:
3 years? experience in hands-on accounting, month-end closing and account reconciliations
Manufacturing experience a plus
Bachelor?s degree
Thorough understanding of ERP systems and how transactions are connected
Demonstrated knowledge of month-end close processes
Demonstrated knowledge of various tax reporting requirements
Excellent understanding of variance analysis, strong analytical analysis and data-driven presentation skill
Experience with major ERP system (JDE, SAP, Oracle, etc.). Experience with Netsuite or Plex a plus
Microsoft Office applications
Must be detail oriented and constantly ensure accuracy
Self-starter, high degree of motivation, bias for action and ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
Must have good verbal skills, where one must frequently convey detailed and important information
Must have good attendance and punctuality
