Benefits Specialist Job Opening in Phoenix, Arizona - Master Electronics has an exciting career opportunity for a Benefits Specialist that will report to the Human Resources Director in Phoenix, AZ. This position is the result of continued growth and is ideally suited for someone with career experience in human resources with an in-depth knowledge of employee benefits. The selected candidate must be able to effectively administer our benefit programs with our vendor partners as well as respond to a variety of employee inquiries. As such, this job is ideal for the individual who is motivated to provide high levels of service to employees and be recognized as the resident subject matter expert in the company?s benefit programs.
Key Responsibilities :
Facilitates employee benefits enrollment (e.g., new hire orientation, online enrollment tool support, change in family status, annual enrollment meetings, retirement plan online enrollment support, etc.)
Ensures that weekly and semi-monthly payroll benefit deductions are accurate, including any adjustments for late enrollees, late payments for employees on LOA, COBRA participants, etc.
Reconciles routine insurance and employee benefits invoices against payroll data and submits audited result for payment approval
Coordinates the employee wellness activities for the organization
Serves as day-to-day contact with benefit brokers for benefit life cycle issues and initiatives
Facilitates workers compensation accident reporting (e.g., OHSA 301 incident reports, OSHA 300 log, etc.) and applicable insurance carrier correspondence and case management
Provides exceptional customer service, over the phone and in person, with employees and external stakeholders
Provides out-of-office back-up to team members (e.g., temp staffing /recruitment support; employee onboarding/data entry into HRIS; background check processing etc.)
Provides miscellaneous support to Human Resource Director and team
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High school diploma or G.E.D.
At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources support environment where benefits administration was the primary focus of the role
Proficient in the use of Microsoft (MS) Office (i.e., MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, etc.)
Must be able to reconcile benefit invoices against payroll records using desktop technology (e.g., MS Excel, MS Access, etc.)
Has a thorough understanding of federal and state human resource regulations and compliance procedures (e.g., FMLA, ADAA, FLSA, ERISA, OSHA, etc.)
Must be able to handle sensitive issues with tact and maintain the confidentiality of private information
Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment; demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy; as well as consistent follow-through skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, and basic editing
Ability to multi-task in an effective, timely and professional manner, where customer satisfaction is the ultimate goal
Team-oriented operating style with effective interpersonal skills that allow successful business interactions with individuals of all leadership styles, personalities, and career levels
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or related field
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
