Group Sales Manager Job Opening in Baltimore, Maryland - Working closely with the VP of Marketing and Communications and the Director of Ticket Services and Sales, the Group Sales Manager plays a leadership role in all aspects of group sales for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at our multiple venues although primarily at the Meyerhoff in Baltimore, MD and the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD. This position is responsible for exploring and implementing creative opportunities to generate and grow group sales revenue from both new and existing accounts, in efforts to achieve overall ticket revenue goals. The Group Sales Manager provides an exceptional patron services experience and assists management with day-to-day marketing functions consistent with the organization's goals and objectives. The Group Sales Manager position will help realize the full potential for group sales across all lines of programming, developing sales campaigns that are tailored to a unique range of products, and serving as an event coordinator for group receptions and events. Special focus should be placed on providing a superior level of customer service and optimization of the patron experience, along with a desire and capacity to work as a part of a results-driven team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for meeting and exceeding an annual Group Sales revenue goal.
Prospecting and researching to generate group business.
Implements targeted to organized factions.
Cultivates and leverages partnerships and memberships.
Assists in the execution of local partnerships and packages.
Assists in maintaining community/corporate contacts and business to business memberships.
Facilitates group events in conjunction with a concert ticket purchase, including pre/post-concert receptions, and musician meet and greets.
Manages the entire group sales process, from proposal through event execution:
Preparing proposal and letter of agreement, conducting site visits, collecting payment, securing necessary BSO staff and musicians, communicating event details to the appropriate departments.
Fulfills group requests for Meyerhoff, Strathmore, and Oregon Ridge, with assistance from the Group Sales Associate.
Oversees Oregon Ridge pavilion rentals and on-site event coordination for July 3rd & 4th events.
Establish and maintain relationships with clientele through customer service, cultivation and regular communication.
Manages group ticket purchases for orders via web request or phone, with assistance from the Group Sales Associate.
Responsible for account maintenance of group sales customers and prospects, with assistance from the Group Sales Associate.
Represents the BSO at Tradeshow Exhibits and Community Events.
Community outreach to area special interest groups, seniors groups and the community at large.
Establish relationships with business professionals in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent work experience required, with at least 2+ years of Group Sales experience in a professional setting strongly preferred.
Proven sales experience and a record of successfully achieving sales goals.
Experience in the arts, entertainment or hospitality is preferred, but not required.
Must have or be able to quickly acquire knowledge of departmental structure, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrates superior organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft programs, and knowledge of the Tessitura database or other CRM systems highly desirable. Ability to learn other software programs as needed.
Knowledge of digital marketing technologies including e-marketing, social networking, and YouTube.
Must demonstrate initiative and strong problem resolution, and be able to participate successfully in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment. Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Schedule flexibility and willingness to work nights and weekends for concert duty as needed. Some holiday work required.
Ability to travel to clients, venues or tradeshow sites. Must provide own transportation, driver?s license required.
A background and/or interest in symphonic music desirable.
