Software Developer Job Opening in West Sacramento, California - Novate Solutions Inc. a fast-growing process controls engineering firm that works with state of the art automation technology, is looking for a Software whose primary role is to develop software for high end industrial and security applications. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining application software to established standards and specifications. In cooperation with the end users, this individual will be responsible for testing application software to assure accuracy, integrity, interoperability and completeness to achieve desired client results. The ideal person for this role is a hard-worker that is passionate about software development, wants to be a key player on a dynamic and innovative team and is deeply committed to building well designed, high quality applications that users and clients will love and rely on.
Responsibilities:
Writes structured code from specifications conforming to established methodology and standards.
Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.
Conducts unit tests of either new or modified applications. Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work adherence to standards and specifications.
Prepares audit and internal control procedures, and ensures documentation of new programs or changes to existing programs.
Implements error free application software in a timely manner.
Prepares change control documentation.
Proactively monitors the performance of assigned application software and makes approved changes to improve operating efficiency and effectiveness of assigned applications.
Adheres to policies, procedures and standards in the development and implementation of software in accordance to Novate QC standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering required.
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a software
A high level of comfort with MS C#/C++.
Experience with MS SQL and MySQL query development and generation.
Able to use ODBC, and other database interface libraries.
Ability to collaborate professionally and effectively with clients to build new applications, and improve existing systems.
Ability to work collaboratively as a team player and thrive in a fast pace industrial work environment.
Ability to learn new and specialized software languages.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
Must be positive with a can- do attitude and mindset.
Ability to travel approximately 20% locally and approximately 10% out of the area.
