Senior Cost Analyst Job Opening in Sumter, South carolina - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides technical assistance and guidance to the manufacturing and service departments to ensure a high degree of cost management and inventory control.
Routinely takes the lead in conducting the month-end closing process (within SAP) for the Sumter Conducts monthly closing, prepares financial reports and accompanying comments for significant variances. Oversee, Cost Analysts activities related to month-end closing to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
Monitors the general ledger to ensure all transactions are completely and accurately accounted for
Analyzes actual to budget/reforecast variances and provides explanations for significant variances
Reviews daily with manufacturing the production order variances and the inventory cycle count variances.
Perform regular reviews with plant management to discuss production and costing issues.
Coordinates quarterly forecasts between production areas and corresponding support teams. Responsible for accuracy and completeness of schedules prepared for plant forecast review meeting.
Assist the Plant Controller and Budget/Cost Accounting Supervisor in the preparation of the annual plant budget as well as monitor the progress of cost analysts and staff accountant ensuring deadlines are achieved.
Performs audits of production areas to ensure that policies and procedures relating to production reporting and inventory accountability are being executed.
Track, trend and report monthly cycle count variances
Prepare cost estimates as required.
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and track cost reduction initiatives
Uses Microsoft Excel to do data analysis as required
