Staff Accountant Job Opening in Spring Hill, Tennessee - Description:
The primary function of the Staff Accountant is to assist the department in creating timely and accurate financial statements. The staff accountant also maintains accurate accounting of business transactions of the organization, by applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Staff Accountant will perform accounting functions for the operations of business, including 50+ clinics and the support offices.
Responsibilities:
Ensures that all month-end close deadlines are met and all entries are prepared and booked accurately and timely.
Reconciles all assigned balance sheet accounts to the general ledger, by maintaining accurate schedules and files.
Account for the purchase of fixed assets by reviewing purchases, maintaining the fixed asset database, ensuring depreciation expense is calculated and booked accurately, and reconciling to the general ledger.
Responsible for the inventory process, including ensuring inventory counts are completed timely, adjustments are booked and inventory reconciliations are completed accurately.

Analyze financial results, on a consolidated basis or by clinic, and prepare variance analysis reports to explain budget to actuals and variance to trend.
Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Assists with other projects, as assigned.
Requirements:
2-4 years general accounting experience
Advanced skills in Excel
Knowledge of GAAP
Strong organizational skills
Works well independently and in team environment
Analytical and problem solving skills
Must be detail-oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills
