Dental Office Manager Job Opening in Hilton Head Island, South carolina - Schedules and supervises staff; oversees patient triage and appointments. Manage dept. budget, develop policies and procedures. Clinical dental experience preferred. Part-time position (25 hrs/wk) reports to Executive Director; competitive salary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Coordinator of the Dental Department is responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the dental clinic, to include the following:
Schedule dentists, hygienists, assistants and receptionists
Supervise dental assistants and dental hygienists
Keep the dental department medical director informed of all relevant occurrences and issues (i.e., meetings, scheduling, budget matters, personnel or patient issues)
Develop policies related to dental department matters such as selection of cases, standards of care and patient protection.
Communicate with dentists regarding dental department meetings, scheduling, state requirements (e.g., CDE credits), department procedures, patient care issues, etc.
Communicate with community agencies and private dental offices regarding patient treatment needs and concerns.
Manage dental department budget, including ordering supplies and approving payment of invoices, coordinating with the VIM accountant.
Work with the dental department medical director to ensure conformity with state and federal regulations, including OSHA and DHEC requirements related to radiology, infection control, employee safety, etc
Ensure that licensure and credentialing requirements are met by all staff.
Job Requirements:
· Baccalaureate preferred.
· Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office ? Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
· 3 ? 5 years previous knowledge of experience in dental practice management.
· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
· Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
· Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
· Attention to detail and accuracy
· Strict confidentiality
· Flexible and able to perform a wide variety of tasks
