Staff Accountant Job Opening in Florence, Kentucky - Our client is currently experiencing rapid growth and is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join their accounting and finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the accounting department. This is a temp to hire job for the right candidate with an annual salary range of $40,000 ? $45,000 based on experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and maintain department budgets including development, analysis, and forecasting
Manage the daily and weekly processing, forecasting, and monthly closing of cash receipts, recording of revenue, receivables, and reconciliation
Perform the processing and recording of accounts receivable and payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff commissions are paid accurately and in accordance with finance policies
Review accounts receivable aging and process monthly collections to schedule
Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer?s benefit costs, 401k costs, accruals and prepaid expenses
Process weekly payroll for timeliness and accuracy including payroll taxes and expenses
Perform daily labor adjustments as needed
Experience working with insurance
Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, cost reports, budget performance and audits
Skills & Competencies
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
4+ years? experience in accounting or related field
Proficient in Word and Excel
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
