Billing Specialist - Trucking Experience Job Opening in Oak Brook, Illinois - POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Billing Specialist serves an integral role in the operation of the Company. Converting the details of transportation service deliveries into accurate customer invoices as well as addressing customer inquiries related to billing completed. This role serves a sensitive customer service function. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills. This individual must demonstrate an attention to detail.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Gathering and validating transportation service information from data feeds
Reconciling and or augmenting data with inquiries from drivers, dispatchers, terminal managers as well as customers
Validation of invoice metrics with customer shipping contract terms
Identifying and resolving any discrepancy or unsupported items to be invoiced
Preparing and ensuring the accuracy of charges invoiced to the customer
Preparing and distributing customer invoices via electronic means where possible
Maintaining accurate account activity records in appropriate operating and accounting systems
Maintaining financial records by filing supporting documentation and reports electronically
Performing inquiries on customer account activities
Identifying, escalating (if necessary), and resolving disputed invoice items and short payments
Verifying accounts by reconciling statements and transaction activity
Maintaining financial security by following internal accounting controls
Performing other tasks and duties as may be requested from time to time
Contributing to the Billing Team by accomplishing tasks in a timely and accurate Skills and Qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
